Alexander Misharin participated in the XI International Railway Business Forum Strategic Partnership 1520

First Vice-President of Russian Railways and the General Director of JSC High-Speed Rail Lines Alexander Misharin attended the XI International Railway Business Forum Strategic Partnership 1520 which took place from 1 till 3 June 2016 in Sochi. The forum is the largest annual meeting of leaders of the railway business and aimed at adoption of system decisions on the most important aspects of the railway complex functioning: optimization of transportation, modernization of transport infrastructure, attraction of investments, production of modern rolling stocks.

On June 2, Alexander Misharin participated at the expert dialogue "Foreign Markets: The Potential of Partnerships". The participants discussed important issues regarding the industry development: export of rolling stocks and molding, support mechanisms for the export of the enterprises’ products, possibilities of consortia, the role of the 1520 space in the railway infrastructure. In his statement, the First Vice-President of Russian Railways spoke about the Company’s priorities with regard to its international business. "I am absolutely sure that using mechanisms of coordination and interaction and capabilities of our potential partners, we will be able significantly to increase our presence in foreign markets in the nearest time" — Mr. Misharin noted.  Jochen Eickholt, CEO of Mobility Department, Siemens AG, Konstantin Danilov, the Director of Kaluga Plant Remputmash, Kirill Lipa, General Director of JSC Transmashholding, Purevbaatar Luvsandagva, the Head of Ulaanbaatar Railway also took part in the discussion.

During the strategic session "Perspectives of Cooperation of the Russian and European Companies in the Railway Industry" which was also attended by Alexander Misharin, the issues regarding localization of the rolling stock manufacturing, the provided service, cooperation in searching for new markets, reliability of technical solutions were discussed. Alexander Misharin told in his report about the design decisions for the construction of the "Moscow — Kazan" HSR and its design features, about localization of manufacturing and the rolling stock which will run on HSR. The reports also were presented by Jochen Eickholt, CEO of Mobility Diepartment, Siemens AG, Jens Grapher, Director for International Relations of Deutsche Bahn AG, Gael Dumetier, the Regional President Russia - CIS of Vossloh AG, David Jon, the Head of  Main Line Transport Division  of Mobility Department of "Siemens AG", Maxim Kuzemchenko, the Deputy General Director for  Business Development of Research and Production Corporation “United Wagon Company”, Rainer Lindner, the CEO of the Schaeffler subregion “Central and Eastern Europe”, Schaeffler Technologies AG, Dietrich Moeller, the President of Siemens in Russia, the Vice-President of Siemens AG.

On the closing day of the forum the First Vice-President of Russian Railways took part in strategic session "Cities as Stations of the Future Euroasian High-Speed Subway" which also was attended by Alexei Tsydenov, the Deputy Transport Minister of the Russian Federation, Anatoly Pakhomov, the Mayor of Sochi, Wolfgang Dik, the Head of the Economy and Science Department of the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Germany in the Russian Federation. During the session, the participants discussed the issues regarding the development of coherence of the cities, mobility of the population, development of long-distance and international transport connection. In his report, Alexander Misharin highlighted that Russia has set ambitious tasks regarding the program of the transport development till 2030 including the development of the project of the Beijing-Moscow Eurasian High-Speed Transport Corridor. The session was closed with the report of Anatoly Pakhomov at the Railway Silk Road Cities Forum and with the signing of the Turin Charter.
